You feel like there is a mountain of tasks to complete, endless people are calling you requiring your time, hundreds of unread messages & emails, yet you are at a standstill. You have no idea what to do or where to begin. There is so much on your plate that many times you actually do nothing.

Many of us resort to a habit that helps us forget about the tasks at hand. Whenever we feel overwhelmed we are more likely to drink, eat, or ignore. Rarely do individuals step up and conquer the tasks at hand in a calm, confident & efficient manner. People who know how to overcome the feeling of being overwhelmed are extremely happy & successful individuals. So why do some people have an easy time getting things done and some of us shrivel up in the fetal position? Every single one of us that has felt overwhelmed has lost efficiency in their work life. This lack of efficiency and productivity affects our income which in turn can affect our relationships and all aspects of our life that contribute to our mental health.

We all know the feeling…

We all know the feeling…

So how do we overcome the feeling of being overwhelmed? Even though all of us are wired differently from birth through genetics and the way we were raised, one of the most powerful things we can do is understand what creates the feeling of being overwhelmed.

I’ve personally dealt with this situation for most of my adult life. When I was a kid in school making fun videos in our video production class, I had not a worry in the world. I had no financial responsibility or fear of things not working out. My time was dedicated to having fun without limitations beyond the bell ringing and having to go to a different class. Reflecting back on this time of my life I now realize that I found my passion! At an early age I fell in love with film. This love for something made me a very vibrant human being. If you got in my way of doing what I loved, I made your life miserable. My school tried suspending me, putting me in detention, or even expelling me from school at one point because I didn’t want to abide by the rules. Typically this would be a problem but I was creating amazing videos! My art was taking on new life and finally my parents, teachers and principals gave me an internship at the local news station to get rid of me without making me leave the school. I graduated with my friends with real life job experience; something most kids don’t get until higher education.

You may be wondering how this applies to you? Well I learned the hard way that life can’t always be exactly what you want it to be. You have to learn how to work with others and deal with deadlines or budgets. The ideas in my mind to make movies and documentaries was quickly grounded when I realized how much it cost to make a film! That’s when reality hit me. I needed to make a lot of money if I wanted to make big films. That is where most of the stress began to set in. The victim mentality inside screamed “Why do I have to do this!?” Or “Can’t somebody else take care of this?” My realization that I would love to share with you is that there is a lot of hard work that goes into making your dreams a reality. Most people have big dreams but as soon as the hard work sets in, they give up. It becomes too big of a mountain to climb. The biggest mistake they make is looking down or backwards instead of remaining curious of what exists beyond the clouds in front of them.

If you want to avoid the feeling of being overwhelmed you have to constantly involve yourself in what made you set out on the journey in the first place: THE VISION! The vision of what your life WILL be must become your reality. The road to bringing that vision into a reality is where the trials, tribulations, struggles and doubts all come into play and THAT is where we get overwhelmed. The key to avoiding that pressure is to never deviate from the path to achieving your mission. Your mission should be blasted all around you. On the desk at work, on the mirror in your bathroom or the coffee maker in your kitchen. Your mission is your torch and the hard work is the dark cave. That dark cave can seem hopeless but as long as the torch is lit and you are continuing on the journey, you are winning!

“The vision of what your life WILL be must become your reality.”

In closing, understand that you are winning even if you are feeling overwhelmed. If you have a lot on your plate, as long as you focus on why you set out on the journey, you are in a very elite percentage of people. It doesn’t take millions of dollars to be successful, all it takes is a dedication to achieving a vision. That is our mission at Vybe Source, to help you achieve your highest potential in life. When you are overwhelmed, ask yourself why am I doing this? Some of us have no vision so we picked up tasks with no plan. That is why you go out and drink or binge watch TV shows instead of getting your work done. You are so distant from your vision. Your vision, if constantly imprinted on your mind, will manifest in due time. The more you focus on the vision, the quicker the vision will manifest. If you begin doing things just to make money or because you think it’s the next best thing!—You will always be vastly disappointed or unhappy when you get to the end of the tunnel to realize it was a dead end. Those who truly reach great heights in life have a vision. They focus on that vision, they imprint that vision in their minds, and they don’t stop until it is a reality.
