As many know, Coachella weekend 1 was last week.

The festival this year had some amazing performances, but one artist stood out and gave us a little truth about reality. Donald Glover A.K.A Childish Gambino spoke on the loss of his father, Mac Miller, and Nipsey Hussle(who was gunned down outside his California clothing store a few weeks back.) Saturday night.

He was very emotional, and even began to break down. There’s barely any footage of the speech on Youtube due to Glover requesting the audience to put their phones away.

Here’s what he said,

"We have so much data, like, we know what's gonna happen," he said. "We're too afraid to plant a tree that we know we're not going to eat from. There's a hundred thousand of you out here right now, There's a good chance that some of y'all — at least one of y'all — won't see next week. So what I'm saying is: While you're here, while we're here, feel something and pass it on.”

He also dropped a movie with Rihanna named Guava Island right after his performance at Coachella, which you can stream via Amazon Prime Video. He is also giving his voice to Simba in the new Lion King live action movie which comes out July 19 later this year . Talk about a man with a plan.

Donald Glover has won multiple Grammys, and Emmys, started a huge wave in 2018 with the music video This is America which now has over 500 Million YouTube views. He has been inspiring millenials all over the world with his creative and talented use of acting, music and directing. 2019 is just starting for the Atlanta TV show super star.

I really hope he reaches EGOT* status. This man deserves it.

*EGOT the achievement of having won all four of the major American entertainment awards (i.e. an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony).
